CRACK FILLING & SEALING | WATER-PROOF BARRIER
Implementing a routine pavement maintenance schedule incorporating sealcoating and crack filling can significantly extend the lifespan of your asphalt pavement, more than doubling its longevity while enhancing its visual appeal. Compared to the expense of repairing or replacing asphalt pavement, sealcoating and crack filling represent a fraction of the cost. The crucial aspect of effective crack filling and sealing lies in addressing cracks while they are still small, as this approach inhibits crack expansion and prevents the formation of new cracks.
If left untreated, cracks permit rain and moisture to penetrate the pavement, leading to erosion of base materials and eventually resulting in potholes and pavement failure. Utilizing crack filler to seal these cracks helps deter the flow of rain and moisture through the pavement, preventing erosion and failure. By halting water ingress, the rate of pavement deterioration is considerably reduced. Additionally, crack sealing prevents the loss of aggregate from the edges of the crack, further contributing to pavement preservation.

What Is Cold Applied Crack Filling & Sealing?
Cold Applied Crack Filling and Sealing offers a practical, cost-effective, and efficient method for addressing cracks in asphalt pavement. In the pavement maintenance industry, the terms “filling” and “sealing” are often used interchangeably, both referring to the process of addressing cracks. Some may attribute the term “sealing” specifically to rubberized elastomeric materials. Cold applied crack filling is commonly employed on parking lots and driveways, although it can also yield effective results on roads and streets. Cold Applied Crack Fillers typically comprise a clay-filled, polymer-modified asphalt emulsion liquid that seamlessly flows into cracks at ambient temperatures.

What Is Hot Pour Crack Filling & Sealing?
Hot pour crack filling involves heating blocks of rubberized asphalt in a specialized oil-jacketed melter and then applying the heated material to cracks in roads and parking lots. This method is typically utilized on roads, highways, and parking lots. Hot pour crack filling provides the benefit of rapid set times, often within 10 minutes or less. Once the hot pour material cools, it becomes drivable.
